Who we are

Our website address is: https://ambitdesign.com

Information you send through this website

This website has two forms, and neither one sends anything to us by itself.

The contact form does not submit to a server. When you press Send message, what you typed is assembled into an email addressed to us and opened as a draft in your own mail application. Nothing leaves your device at that point, and we have not received anything: the message reaches us only if you then send that draft yourself, from your own email account, exactly as if you had written to us directly.

The newsletter form is not connected to a mailing list. An address typed into it is not stored, not transmitted and not added to anything, and the form tells you so when you submit it.

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies. There is no cookie banner on it because there is nothing to ask your consent for.

It does use your browser’s local storage for one thing. If you switch the site between its light and dark appearance, that choice is saved under the name ambit-theme-d2 so the page still looks the way you left it when you come back. The only value stored is the word light or the word dark. Local storage is not a cookie: it is never attached to a request, so this preference stays in your browser and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser’s settings for this site.

Analytics and tracking

We do not use analytics on this website. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising or social media pixel, and no third-party tracking script of any kind. We do not build a profile of you and we do not record how you move through the site.

The fonts and images a page loads are served from this site’s own domain rather than from a third-party network, so opening a page does not, by itself, announce your visit to anyone else. The one exception is described next.

Embedded video in articles

An article on this site can include an embedded video from YouTube or Vimeo. Where one appears, your browser has to request the video from that provider in order to play it, and the provider receives that request in the same way it would if you had gone to its own site. What they do with it is covered by their privacy policies rather than by this one. YouTube videos are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com. No other kind of third-party embed is supported anywhere on this site.

How long we keep your data

Nothing described above results in personal information being stored on this website. There is no visitor database, no accounts, no comments and no mailing list, so the site itself has nothing to keep. The appearance preference above is the only thing saved anywhere, it is saved in your browser rather than ours, and it stays there until you clear it.

Email you choose to send us is a different matter: it sits in our email account, not on this website, and we keep it there in the ordinary course of doing business with you.

What rights you have over your data

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To make either request, write to us through the contact page.
