I forget to post new work projects online, too! (And 3 ways to change this)
This is an issue with my work mindset. I can’t help but think this is something other design studios and firms have issues in accomplishing, as well. To take the screenshots and examples worked up in a timely fashion. To line up the time to do it in the first place…When you tend to be in charge of the majority of the other things rolling in your business. You just have to be very intentional with your decisions to make it happen.
So here’s an impromptu 3 things to do to remember to post your work online. We will be implementing these ourselves, moving forward...
Research and look up best times to be sharing work via google search console and the traffic that is landing on your site. i.e. If you know you get a ton of traffic when you post a new blog post on Tuesdays, then maybe sharing work online will coincide with that somehow. When you know people will be visiting your site.
Once you get the information you need, set an exact time each week to share different work online. This is vital as a set time will help you take actionable steps. Without a set time, you end up putting it aside for “more urgent work”, when in actuality it’s the easiest way to promote your business.
Follow up on these timeframes and actionable steps to see if they actually were taken care of. Whether it was your job or you were able to delegate to someone else. Each week go back to your schedule and verify if the posting of new work online actually occurred. You can also set up Google to give you insights as to whether or not your audience online spiked when you posted new work.
All of that said, there’s a couple projects that I never got around to sharing in 2018 and I am going FINALLY be sharing these this week. (Want to help me stay accountable?! If you do, I’d love to hire you. :) I hope you enjoy them and if you could, please share them to your social feeds! Please share any feedback you might have, if you wouldn’t mind.
