Community and Family Services is based in Portland, Indiana. They serve 6 counties in our part of Indiana. I had a conversation with them a while back about how they were in need of a new website. Their current site was in need of an update and really not representative of who they are as a fluid and growing company.
As we got into the process, the question came up regarding their brand’s feel and look. It was an established brand that had been in place since Community and Family Services had been established in 1965. So approval was needed by the board and ultimately the goal was to make a logo that still held to the same overall feel of older brand but to update it for 2015.
Redesigning an older logo, in which we did our best to keep the character portrayed in their original design was an interesting process. I can’t say I’ve designed too many logos in this way but I’m very excited about the results. I think it holds most of the original character but looks new and modern.
CFS have 6 counties worth of information in which, each county has different services. It was not easy to organize the site in a way that made sense and gave the visitor ALL of the info they might need for each county.
Nonetheless, we are happy with the results and it seems the feedback has been great so far.
